Small Stuff

Counterintuitively, photographing small items, or macro as one should refer to the genre, with is not a simple matter. Although your subject may stay lie still, the immutable rules of physics relating to depth of field gets in the way, requiring some clever digital chicanery with focus stacking in which multiple images with different focus points are combined to deliver a final rendered image with everything in sharp focus.

Over the past few years I have set up and taken hundreds of these challenging macro shots, including post production ready for use online and in litho printed catalogues.
